What is Piano Express?

The Piano Express is our method of choice in building a strong foundation in learning the piano as it gamifies their experience of learning, making it engaging, motivating and fun. It produces incredible students and studies show that students can progress up to 6x faster in Piano Express than students learning the piano in the traditional way.

Piano Express is a 6 level piano method that takes students at a beginner level to a preparatory examination level. It focuses on a holistic approach to teaching students, helping students learn more than just the songs – but understanding of aural, theory, improvisation and technique. The format of the class also grants the opportunity to learn independently as well as collaboratively with other students to enhance their learning and progress.

Student Discovery

Students attend a one-hour small group class each week. A maximum of 6 students will attend each class.

Student Assessment

The first half hour is focused on student assessment; the second half hour is focused on musicianship, ear training, sight-reading, and theory.

At-Home Practice

Students leave the studio empowered to make real and significant progress at home because the software allows them to master songs from anywhere!

Our Group Piano Lessons encourages independent musical learning combined with a collaborative approach with group based activities for musicianship, aural and theory

Each class will have a maximum of 6 students

Each class will run for 60 minutes.

Yes – as the class duration is generally longer than a private music lesson, the teacher will still have individual and dedicated time with each student.

The format of the group class is a combination of private and collaborative learning, which helps with students’ progress and enjoyment of learning to play piano.

Students ages 6-12 years old are suited for our Group Piano Lessons.

We highly recommend these lessons for students who are new to piano or working on a ‘method book’ level in their learning.

Students in our group classes build a strong foundation in their learning of the piano, and can progress faster than students learning the piano in a more ‘traditional’ approach. The group classes has a combination of both private and group learning so they experience the benefits of both approaches to learning.

Yes – our Introductory Class will give you an experience of a Piano Express Class. This will be an introduction to the class format and software, as well as a private assessment of the student’s skill and level to see which class is best suited.

Introductory Classes are $30.00 for 30 minutes (incl. GST)
