A Musical End to the Year
The Cantabile School of Music was rewarded with a beautiful day of student performances on the 27th of November 2016 for our end of year concert. Students showcased all the hard work they had been doing in their music lessons and really put on a show! Student recitals at our school are optional and free for all friends and family. We always encourage students to play or even to just come and enjoy all the performances.
This was a first for us here at Myrtle. Truly blessed to have all the support of the students, parents and families over all the years, as well as new ones that have joined us. We will continue to do our best to make each concert special for all our students. A sincere thank you to you all!
More photos and videos from the concert will be posted soon!
Please Note: The Cantabile School of Music will be closed from the 24th of December to the 1st of January, 2016. We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with their families! See you all again next year!

Missed a lesson this year?
Please remember that if you have missed a lesson this year, we’d like to invite you to join a group makeup class.
A group makeup is a one hour class, and is a fantastic way to learn music in a group environment. Make sure you sign up for a group that is specific to your age and also your instrument level. There’s no need to worry about which instrument you play.
Group make-ups can be taken at any time and are unlimited, that means you can join as many group makeups during the year as much as you want.
If you are away during these school holidays, please let us know the dates that you will be away to make arrangements to your payment.
Congratulations Luca on winning a Ukelele for being the best dressed for Halloween!

Group Theory Classes
To usher as many students to get involved in 3 of our special upcoming classes, we’d like to invite all students to come and try out ANY or ALL THREE of these classes for a FREE class.
Cantabile Ensemble: Playing in an ensemble is very different to playing solo. It requires a great deal of teamwork and skill to listen and collaborate with other musicians. Students can be put into duos, trios, quartets or a chamber group. Our ensembles will be suitable for all ages, but will require the student to passed a Grade 1 or equivalent on their instrument.
Cantabile Choir: This will be a class set in a supportive and relaxed environment for students to come together to sing some wonderful repertoire. The choir will be suitable for all ages as well as all singing levels (Please note: *Cantabile Choir is not have the same lesson structure as group voice lessons **Non-voice students are more than welcome to join)
Group Theory Classes: Music Theory is an important component to learning a musical instrument. It is also a prerequisite to doing certain grades for an instrumental examination. These group theory classes are mainly for students undertaking AMEB theory examinations Grades 1-5.
Duration of each class: One hour
Price for each class: $20
The Music Ladder System
Music Ladder wristbands are being earned day after day by many students. We are one of the only music schools in Melbourne that gives students the opportunity to earn special coloured wristband bracelets, trophies and certificates for passing musical tests. The Music Ladder System is our unique method of music education that you can only get here at the Cantabile School of Music!
The Cantabile School of Music supports The Song Room, a non-for-profit organisation that strives to give all Australian children equal access to a quality education with musical and art opportunities.
It’s hard to believe that approximately 3 out of 4 children in Australia do not have access to education in music and arts, and face long-term disadvantage from poor access to quality education resources.
Our school believes that every child deserves the best possible start and every opportunity to succeed in life.
You can show your support by making a small donation in one of our red tins in the school to help support this cause. You can also purchase one of our $2 Air Instruments which will be donated to put a real instrument in the hands of a child who needs it.
We serve to create a community
Our students come from many different suburbs including Mount Waverley, Wantirna South, Scoresby, Knoxville, Berwick, Narre Warren, Ashwood, Burwood, Burwood East, Vermont, Wantirna, Vermont South, Wheelers Hill, Blackburn, Box Hill, Doncaster, Springvale, Clayton and other surrounding areas.
