Mashups and Movie Music20160927_180028

September’s workshops were awesome! In this particular workshop, we had decided that we would only present contemporary songs, and everyone just went with it. From ‘Movie Trailer’ Music to creative mashups of Justin Bieber and Chainsmokers, and even soundtracks from the movie ‘Suicide Squad’, this is something we’ll definitely be doing again. Not to mention, pizza and a movie was had afterwards.

Links to recordings of performances will be added soon!

A BIG thank you and welcome to the students who enrolled in September:

Music Ladder wristbands are being earned day after day by many students. We are one of the only music schools in Melbourne that gives students the opportunity to earn special coloured wristband bracelets, trophies and certificates for passing musical tests. The Music Ladder System is our unique method of music education that you can only get here at the Cantabile School of Music!

The Cantabile School of Music supports The Song Room, a non-for-profit organisation that strives to give all Australian children equal access to a quality education with musical and art opportunities.
It’s hard to believe that approximately 3 out of 4 children in Australia do not have access to education in music and arts, and face long-term disadvantage from poor access to quality education resources.

Our school believes that every child deserves the best possible start and every opportunity to succeed in life.

You can show your support by making a small donation in one of our red tins in the school to help support this cause. You can also purchase one of our $2 Air Instruments which will be donated to put a real instrument in the hands of a child who needs it.

What is Music FunTime? Music FunTime is an early learning music program for ages 18 months to 7 years. It is an innovative new music program based on the Johns-Hopkins research, which has proven the magical connection between math and music. Through structured, progressive curriculum involving crafts, worksheets, colourful music teaching tools, games, instruments, singing, and very small group class instruction, children learn how to read music notation, rhythm, symbols, key signatures, and much more in a fun and exciting new way.
